New at the Hôtel du Château!
Hello to all our readers!
A lot has happened at the Château Hotel since our last post. We are always striving for improvement, taking customer feedback into account, and seeking out good sources of inspiration.
Firstly, during our annual closure, we changed the carpeting on our stairs and landings to provide a visual touch and change from simple plain carpeting.
Then we changed the curtains in some of the rooms to add more color and also to create a more personal style. Opinions on Instagram and Facebook were evenly split: one network preferred blue, the other yellow!
In keeping with this, we added bedspreads with the same patterns and colours as the new curtains so that we no longer have all white beds.
Our most recent major change is a long-awaited project… the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in our parking lot! With electric cars becoming increasingly common, this was an important consideration for us, being one of the few hotels with private parking in downtown Caen. The charging stations will soon be ready for use, much to the delight of our tech-savvy guests!

The city pass gives you access to the must-see attractions of Caen for a period of 24 hours , 48 hours or hours , and also allows you to benefit from discounts in a number of partner shops and restaurants as well as on access to certain tourist sites .
Why use the City Pass?
Prices are WITHOUT TRANSPORT (if you require transport, go to the Tourist Office):

The pass is activated on the first visit and is available for the selected duration.

The end of the year is approaching,

After the completion of our various projects, such as the work on our facade or the work on our latest rooms, obtaining these 3 stars is a great honor for us.

New Chamber
The next steps in our projects,
After the work on our facade, we continued our adventure by renovating 8 rooms located on the 1st and 2nd floors.
We have revamped different categories such as our comfort double rooms, our Twin/Triple rooms, and also a family room.
In 2021, we started the project with the help of our suppliers for the choice of furniture.
We started the work at the end of 2021 during the low season, which allowed us to carry out the work little by little.
His work allowed us to add our personal touch and we are happy to be able to share it with you.
We wanted to finish the work with the 2022 high season, so that you could enjoy these new rooms.

We are pleased to unveil our new facade with its signage and changes.
We started the project in October 2020. It was carried out in collaboration with and with the help of the city and our suppliers.
Then we submitted our application for authorization in April 2021. After two months it was validated and we were able to place the order with work starting in June 2021.
We completed this work in September 2021.

Works
After all these years we wanted a change and something new.
Our project began during the first lockdown; the idea was to recreate a more modern and understated storefront.
Several ideas were proposed to us, but a choice had to be made. After much deliberation, our choice is made and the adventure can begin.
The second lockdown slowed down our project, but we were able to start the work.
In mid-May, we began the project by dismantling the canopies across the entire facade. It was quite complicated, especially reaching the 4th floor. We hired a cherry picker to be able to take everything down.
Our project continued with the removal of the front door. This was replaced with an electric door for greater comfort and to make your arrivals with luggage easier.
After all that dismantling, something new was definitely needed. Following approval from the city of Caen, a new, more modern and understated sign was installed.
This project was very important to us, to create a facade that reflected our image.

They are present at Place de la République and Boulevard du Maréchal-Leclerc from Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm and on Saturday from 11am to 5pm.
