These present general conditions of sale and the specific conditions described below govern the commercial relations between Logis Hôtel du Château in Caen and its customers.
They form part of the sales contract, and their complete and unreserved acceptance is obligatory for the completion of the contract. The reservation request implies acceptance of these conditions of sale. The contract is concluded between the Customer declared in the reservation confirmation, and the hotelier. The transfer of a stay to a third party is not possible and automatically cancels the contract, without any compensation being claimed from the hotelier.
1) General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
1.1 – Capacity
All clients acknowledge having the capacity to contract, that is to say being of legal majority and not being under curatorship or guardianship.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult member of their family.
The customer agrees to respect the internal regulations of the establishment displayed in each room, and detailed below.
1.2 – Price
Prices are in euros. VAT is always included. The prices indicated only include the services strictly mentioned in the reservation. Additional services provided by the hotelier during the stay and, where applicable, tourist tax will be added to the price mentioned in the booking.
The prices mentioned on the site are subject to change without notice and only the price indicated in the booking confirmation is contractual.
1.3 – Terms of payment
Payment for all services is made on the day of arrival, when the key is handed over, directly to the hotelier.
Any service ordered is due.
1.4 – Duration of the rental
The rental starts on the day of arrival at the time indicated in the confirmation, and ends on the day of departure at the time indicated in the confirmation, whatever the time of arrival. Any day started is due.
1.5 – Force majeure
Force majeure means any event external to the parties that is both unpredictable and insurmountable and prevents either the client or the hotelier from fulfilling all or part of the obligations provided for in the contract.
This is particularly the case in the event of a strike, insurrection, riot, health crisis, prohibitions enacted by governmental or public authorities.
It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends, for the parties, the performance of their reciprocal obligations and that each party bears the cost of the resulting costs.
In particular, customers will bear only the additional costs that may be incurred to allow the continuation of the trip, following the occurrence of a case of force majeure.
1.6 – Complaints
Logis Hôtel du Château falls under the Tourism and Travel Mediation (MTV) service.
If you have contacted our team and in the absence of a satisfactory response within sixty (60) days, you can contact the MTV Mediator whose contact details and referral procedures are available on his website: www.mtv.travel. Any complaint must be made within 30 days from the date of stay.
1.7 – Liability
The security of property and people within the hotel is his responsibility. However, the hotel cannot be held responsible in the event of damage or theft concerning vehicles parked outside the establishment.
1.8 – Computing and Freedoms
By validating the reservation form, the customer agrees to allow us to collect and use their personal data.
The information collected on this form is recorded in a computerized file, stored on the secure Reservit site, for the management of your reservation.
They are kept for the legal period and are intended for Logis Hôtel du Château.
In accordance with law n°78-17 of January 6, 1978 “Informatique et Libertés”, the customer can exercise his right of access to the data concerning him, and have them rectified or deleted, by sending a written request to Logis Hôtel du Château , 5 avenue du 6 Juin, 14000 Caen.
1.9 – Applicable law
Any dispute, claim or dispute relating to the terms of booking a stay or a hotel room are subject to French law.
2) General conditions
2.1 – Booking conditions
For each reservation made on our site, personal data is protected by a secure connection and is not communicated to third parties.
The credit card references that we ask for are used to guarantee the reservation and the rental. Unless otherwise specified, no amount is charged in advance, payment is made on site, on arrival.
The payment of a deposit can also guarantee the reservation. In this case, the reservation becomes firm and final only upon receipt of the deposit by the hotelier, within the time limits. The payment of the balance of the stay will be made on site with the hotelier.
The reservation is only firm and final after receipt of the confirmation sent to the customer by Logis Hôtel du Château de Caen, subject to verification, a posteriori, of the validity of the information on the bank card given as guarantee. Invalid card information will result in cancellation of the reservation.

The client is requested to inform the hotel of his expected arrival time. It must be within the time slot mentioned in the booking confirmation. In any case, it cannot be done after reception closing time.
2.2 – Modification of a reservation
Any request for modification of a reservation must be made no later than 24 hours before the stay. As this is a modification of the initial sales contract, the request is subject to the agreement of the hotel and, in any case, to the availability of rooms.
In the event of shortening of the stay at the initiative of the customer less than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival, the hotel reserves the right to claim payment of the entire stay initially agreed.
The reservation modification is firm and final only after receipt of confirmation from the hotel.
Requests for changes may result, where applicable, in the loss of promotional benefits, or even the application of cancellation conditions.
In the event of force majeure or due to exceptional circumstances, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby hotel of equivalent category, without any price change.
2.3 – Cancellation conditions
In the event of a credit card guarantee, free cancellation up to the deadline mentioned in the reservation description. After this period, or in the event of a no-show, the hotel charges the amount of the first night at the full rate from the credit card provided.
In the event of a deposit guarantee, regardless of the cancellation period, the deposit is not refundable.
The date of receipt of the cancellation request (online or by email, post, telephone) will be the date retained for the cancellation.
Cancellation of a requested reservation will only be effective after confirmation from the hotel.
In the event of a no-show for a stay of at least 2 nights, the hotelier is not required to keep the room for the remaining duration of the stay.
3) Special conditions applicable to non-refundable promotional offers
3.1 – Reservation conditions

The total amount of the stay (including the tourist tax) will be charged by the establishment upon reservation. Invalid card information results in the cancellation of the reservation.

3.2 – Modification of a reservation
The dates of stay, the duration of the stay, as well as the characteristics of the stay (type of room, number of people, number of rooms reserved, breakfast taken, etc.) cannot be modified once the reservation has been made.
In the event of a modification, the total amount of the stay remains with the hotelier without the customer being able to claim any reimbursement.
In the event of force majeure or due to exceptional circumstances, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby hotel of equivalent category, without any price change.
3.3 – Cancellation conditions
In the event of cancellation, modification or no-show, the amount charged will not be refunded.
In the event of a no-show for a stay of at least 2 nights, the hotelier is not required to keep the room for the remaining duration of the stay.
INTERNAL RULES OF THE HOTEL
- The rental price is payable on arrival, upon receipt of the key.
- Any service ordered is due
- The rental starts on the day of arrival at the time indicated in the confirmation, and ends on the day of departure at the time indicated in the confirmation, whatever the time of arrival. Any day started is due.
- Housekeeping is provided until 2:00 p.m. Reception closes at the time indicated in the confirmation.
- From 10:00 p.m., you are asked to speak in a low voice and adjust the sound on your television or radio. Any tenant causing a disturbance may be fired immediately.
- Visits by people from outside the establishment are not authorized in the rooms without the authorization of the head of the establishment.
- When leaving your room, you must lock your door. Don't leave the key on the door. On the day of your departure, please return the key to reception.
- Items left or abandoned may be sold within one year.
- For any damage, loss or theft, you will be charged for repair or replacement at the new value (with a fixed minimum), as well as the operating loss caused. You should not attach anything to the walls.
- The use of a heater, candles, incense, or a stove (gas, oil or electric) is not allowed in the room.
- For hygiene reasons, please do not eat in the rooms. For this, at certain times, a room can be made available to you.
- Hanging laundry is not allowed in the room or at the window.
- The entire establishment is non-smoking. If you detect a smell of tobacco after your stay, you will be charged a lump sum for participation in the cost of deodorizing and cleaning the room.
- We accept dogs under 20 kg and only one is accepted per room.
