These general terms and conditions of sale and the specific conditions described below govern the business relationship between Logis Hôtel du Château in Caen and its customers. They form part of the sales contract, and their full and unreserved acceptance is mandatory for the contract to be valid. Making a reservation implies acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale.
The contract is concluded between the customer named in the booking confirmation and the hotel. Transferring a stay to a third party is not permitted and automatically voids the contract, without any compensation being due from the hotel.

1) General terms and conditions of sale (GTC)

1.1 – Capacity

All customers acknowledge that they have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, meaning they are of legal age and not under guardianship or conservatorship.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult family member.

The customer agrees to abide by the establishment's internal regulations displayed in each room, and detailed below.

1.2 – Price

Prices are quoted in Euros. VAT is always included. The prices shown only include the services specifically mentioned in the booking. Additional services provided by the hotel during your stay, and, if applicable, the tourist tax, will be added to the price quoted in the booking upon invoicing.

The prices mentioned on the website are subject to change without notice and only the price indicated in the booking confirmation is contractual.

1.3 – Payment terms

Payment for all services is made on the day of arrival, upon handing over the key, directly to the hotelier.

All services ordered are payable.

1.4 – Rental period

The rental period begins on the day of arrival at the time indicated in the confirmation, and ends on the day of departure at the time indicated in the confirmation, regardless of the arrival time. Any day started is due in full.

1.5 – Force majeure

Force majeure means any event external to the parties which is both unforeseeable and insurmountable which prevents either the client or the hotelier from fulfilling all or part of the obligations stipulated in the contract.

This is particularly the case in the event of a strike, insurrection, riot, health crisis, or prohibitions issued by governmental or public authorities.

It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends the performance of the parties' reciprocal obligations and that each party shall bear the costs arising therefrom.

Customers will bear sole responsibility for any additional costs that may be incurred to allow the continuation of the trip, following the occurrence of a force majeure event.

1.6 – Complaints

Logis Hôtel du Château is covered by the Tourism and Travel Mediation (MTV) service. If you have contacted our team and have not received a satisfactory response within sixty (60) days, you may contact the MTV Mediator, whose contact details and procedures for contacting them are available on their website: www.mtv.travel.
All complaints must be submitted within 30 days of the date of your stay.

1.7 – Responsibility

The hotel is responsible for the safety of property and people within the hotel. However, the hotel cannot be held liable for damage to or theft of vehicles parked outside the premises.

1.8 – Data Processing and Freedoms

By submitting the booking form, the customer consents to our collection and use of their personal data.
The information collected on this form is recorded in a computer file, stored on the secure Reservit website, for the purpose of managing their booking.
It is kept for the legally required period and is intended for Logis Hôtel du Château.
In accordance with French law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on Data Processing, Data Files and Individual Liberties, the customer may exercise their right to access, rectify, or delete their personal data by sending a written request to Logis Hôtel du Château, 5 avenue du 6 juin, 14000 Caen, France.

1.9 – Applicable Law

Any dispute, claim or litigation relating to the terms and conditions of booking a stay or a hotel room is subject to French law.

2) General conditions

2.1 – Booking Conditions

For each booking made on our site, personal data is protected by a secure connection and is not shared with third parties.

The credit card details we request are used to guarantee the reservation and rental. Unless otherwise stated, no amount is charged in advance; payment is made on arrival.

A deposit can also guarantee the reservation. In this case, the reservation only becomes firm and final upon receipt of the deposit by the hotel within the specified timeframe. The remaining balance will be paid directly to the hotel upon arrival.

The reservation is only confirmed and final upon receipt of the confirmation sent to the client by Logis Hôtel du Château de Caen, subject to subsequent verification of the validity of the credit card information provided as a guarantee. Invalid card information will result in the cancellation of the reservation.

Special offers and promotional rates are valid exclusively on the website www.hotel-chateau-caen.com, subject to room availability for each offer. These offers cannot be combined with any other current promotional offer. All our rates are in Euros. They are indicative only and subject to change without notice. They do not include the tourist tax.

Guests are asked to inform the hotel of their expected arrival time. This must fall within the time slot specified in the booking confirmation. In any case, arrival is not permitted after reception closing time.

2.2 – Modifying a reservation

Any request to modify a reservation must be made no later than 24 hours before the stay. As this constitutes a modification of the original sales contract, the request is subject to the hotel's approval and, in any case, to room availability.

In the event of a shortened stay initiated by the client less than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival, the hotel reserves the right to claim payment for the entire stay initially agreed upon.

The reservation change is only firm and final after receipt of a confirmation from the hotel.

Requests for modifications may, where applicable, result in the loss of promotional benefits, or even the application of cancellation conditions.

In the event of force majeure or due to exceptional circumstances, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby hotel of equivalent category, without any price change.

2.3 – Cancellation Conditions

If the reservation is guaranteed by credit card, cancellation is free up to the period specified in the booking description. After this period, or in case of no-show, the hotel will charge the credit card provided for the full amount of the first night.

In the case of a guarantee by deposit, regardless of the cancellation period, the deposit is non-refundable.

The date of receipt of the cancellation request (online or by email, mail, telephone) will be the date used for the cancellation.

A requested cancellation of a reservation will only be effective after confirmation from the hotel.

In the event of a no-show for a stay of at least 2 nights, the hotelier is not obliged to keep the room for the remainder of the stay.

3) Specific conditions applicable to non-refundable promotional offers

3.1 – Booking Conditions

For each booking made on our site, personal data is protected by a secure connection and is not shared with third parties.

The credit card details we request serve as a guarantee and will be used to pay for your stay. The total amount of your stay (including tourist tax) will be charged by the property at the time of booking.
Invalid card information will result in the cancellation of your reservation.

This non-refundable offer is valid exclusively on the website www.hotel-chateau-caen.com, subject to room availability. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offer. All our rates are in Euros. They are indicative only and subject to change without notice. They do not include the tourist tax.

Guests are asked to inform the hotel of their expected arrival time. This must fall within the time slot specified in the booking confirmation. In any case, arrival is not permitted after reception closing time.

3.2 – Modifying a reservation

The dates of stay, the duration of the stay, as well as the characteristics of the stay (room type, number of people, number of rooms booked, breakfast included…) cannot be modified once the booking has been made.

In the event of a change, the total amount of the stay remains payable to the hotelier without the client being entitled to any refund.

In the event of force majeure or due to exceptional circumstances, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby hotel of equivalent category, without any price change.

3.3 – Cancellation Conditions

In case of cancellation, modification or no-show, the amount charged will not be refunded.

In the event of a no-show for a stay of at least 2 nights, the hotelier is not obliged to keep the room for the remainder of the stay.
